I too want to know! I would like to turn the music off
Again no patches on GOG? Seriously?
The gameplay is already pretty enjoyable but I I really need that exclusive fullscreen mode that the Steam version has. Performance sometimes just drops through the floor.
always the same...
we pay the same amount of money like others. but we get less than others.

but not this time, i'm not buying outdated old crap missing patches anymore.

Good descision. I am presently trying to get a refund for the game. I will take that money to Steam instead. I am pissed with GOG and their constantly missing updates. I once loved GOG...

The main blame should go to the publisher though. If the GOG version is missing Steam updates released already in late Nov and early Dec... WHY THE HECK HADN'T THE PUBLISHER INTEGRATED THEM ALREADY TO THE BASE GOG VERSION? I am quite sure GOG would have wanted to have the updated version, but for some reason the publisher decided not to.

Unfortunately you are recognizing the publisher by paying them again for the game in Steam, for giving poo-poo to GOG users, as if you don't care the publisher did that. But if it is a must-have game, then it is (for me it isn't, hardly any games are, so I can decide not to buy it in either GOG nor Steam; I don't want to pay for such a shitty publisher even in Steam that would offer shit to GOG users). If they don't want to support the GOG users, then they should not release their game on the GOG store.

Yes, the publisher or developer probably isn't innocent, too. Gearbox Software explicitly names GOG as the problem though regarding the patch for "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak". I can't say that about Appeal. It is indeed hard to find the real reason behind the patch delays since we are being left in the dark from either one, publisher, developer and vendor.

There is one thing I know for sure, though. I am BUYING the game from GOG, not from the publisher or developer. I am paying GOG, I am downloading from the GOG website and I have to deal with GOG support in case something goes wrong. GOG is my main contact, so I claim the right to blame GOG if something goes south...
Can we have a blue text response here?

Take your concerns to their twitter/facebook/tickets/email and reddit pages, as it is on the devs/publishers themselves whether or not they are conscientious in bringing an updated version for ALL platforms; as it is their responsibility due to customers paying them for their game!

Do not stop until you receive an answer/solution, and if they blow you off, (Which I doubt, they're not Ubisoft/valve/EA after all) bug Jim sterling so he can take them to task as well as a last resort!

Also, it is pretty much out of gog's hands as they are reliant on the devs/publishers to get off their asses and bring their games up to snuff!

I honestly have no idea why Appeal and Bigben would release the unpatched version of the game. I played 1.0 when it came out on Steam and while I loved the remake it definitely wasn't great without the patches. The patches add much smoother controls, much better jumping and climbing on top of fixing lots of bugs so they are substantial.
today the patches are available for the gog version! ;-)
