I have 3 mons -
- Shamanzaar (out of the fire on top of the blocks),
- Montazaar (Old Shaman had it hidden in his 'temple')
- Okaar via Okazankaar (opening an area with 2 keys, 1 found, 2nd one from flute-organ).
All the Notebook writing is green (except Okazankaar where it says I need to free a man in Zoratsaar (fort reachable by boat only)... but I have already done that).
Now the Shaman in Talanzaar needs to get invited to the palace, but is not. The fluteplayer does not accept Lampe and the Lampeseller does not want to give me Lampe to make the soldiers fall asleep.
Running around, but nothing will get the game going
Any advice for a run-down and lost Slade Cutter ?

Thanks
Jules
**MILD SPOILERS**

If I remember correctly, you need to get the fourth Mon from Okasankaar next, before anything will happen in Talanzaar. If you've spoken to the Shamaz in Cyana, you should have heard that the Mon was hidden on the island where the Gorgor now lives. To get there, you will need to talk to Oru the hunter. If you haven't done so already, you should look for Oru and that will set on on the path to fine the Mon. More specific, spoilery info below:

**HEAVIER SPOILERS**

To go see Oru, you will need to see Sadar at the harbor and help him fix his boat. Do that, then go to Oru's island and talk to him. He'll ask you to get his gun and ammo. The Shamaz can tell you where the gun is... you will need to enlist some help to get it. Ammo can be found by talking to Zele near the harbor, who will ask you to fetch some ingredients for it. These ingredients are harder to find... I won't go into it all here unless you are specifically stuck with them. Once you have the gun and ammo, return to Oru and things should be pretty straightforward from there.

**END SPOILERS**

Post back if you get stuck again at any point of this process.

Also, when I played, I wasn't able to figure out the whole Lampe quest. I think I got part of the way through it but then it seemed to be stuck. But, it's not necessary for the plot, you can totally finish the game without it.
Hi Waltorious,

I have killed the Gorgor already, but did not find any Mon there, so swam (protected by the gorgor-smell) to the next little island; where there is no mon either, but then you can get swim back to Okazankaar OR go to Okaar where I found the 3rd Mon.. I have had the fight with Kroax already, who said he'll meet me again later...

I was wondering about the fourth Mon, I thought the last Mon is in Talanzaar. I have played the game completely, years ago. I thought the 4th Mon is from Talanzaar and then you get the last one, when you go 'home'

So basically I thought I am almost finished except the Mon in the Tallanzaar palace. As I said all the notebooks are green, meaning I have left nothing out yet..
I also remember that in Okaar there are 3 baraks behind a door ,which I have not yet opened, but no idea what sets that part in motion...

The option you mentioned I have done already... Thanks for the trouble of writing and trying to help. Appreciate that !

Actually, that "next little island" you swam to after killing the Gorgor is where the mon is supposed to be. Can you get back there to check again?

You are right that the last mon is in Talanzaar, but it's mon number 5. You have to find four mons first, and then head to Talanzaar.

Unfortunatly no, the old man with his gun takes you to the gorgor-island, then after killing the gorgor, you acquire its 'stench' which allows you to swim to the next island unharmed by the 'sharks' but there is no way back there, as the old man broke his boat and there is no other boat available or person who will get you there, nor can you acquire a new stench to swim unharmed.
Looks like I have to do it all again as all my saves are after this point....
But that will have to wait until I feel like it... maybe a year from now...

Thanks again for replying.

Jules
Hope you have been on the right island. There normaly is starting a sequence automatically. Would it be able to reach that island again by using cheats for godmode? I never tried that, but it should work. Cheats can easily be found via google. The point is not the godmode (it works fine in water too), but to get back to the island.

Attached a map (in german, but you should recognize the mon-Island north-east).

Go to "Lösung" on the left, then you get Links to the different regions at the end of this next page. The maps are red-coloured Links on the top like "Karte von Okasankaar - Hier klicken!"

Huh, I thought you had to pick up that mon to trigger the leaving cutscene.

In any case, you should be able to get there with a cheat - the same cheat that fixes the lighthouse bug should work:

1. In the game, type "hokkus pokkus" without the quote marks to enter the dev console. You may need to type it twice.
2. Type in "benny" and hit enter to activate Benny Hill mode. (You become ultra fast and can cross obstacles.)
3. Use the map to navigate to the mon island,
4. Get the mon.
5. Go back using the cheat if you don't get a cutscene exit.
6. Open up the console again (you can now use F12).
7. Type "benny" again to deactivate the cheat.

Hello Delgado,

Well thanks a million for your reply. I am now convinced I swam to the wrong island. I looked at your attached map and I am almost certain. I could not quite get the german site to work, clicking on Loesung did not show links with maps, but your attachment did the trick.
I am surprised at al the details people know about this game... Amazing

Thanks again, I will try to cheat just to get this Mon and then continue in normal mode after that ( to keep it interesting...)

Best regards,
Jules

Hello Curunauth,

I looked on the net / google for cheats, but never saw your solution. So thank you also very much for that solution, as I think it will be the ONLY way to get that Mon.
You're a champion !! I am at an airport now, but am looking forward to trying this out at home.

Thank all you great people who helped me out. I think with these last 2 replies, I should be able to continue.

Peculiar things is that when I first played it it lasted a lot longer because I thought if I kill too many soldiers the rest of the population would shun me, so tried all in stealth mode - hiding a lot and avoiding soldiers. This time I just wipe out soldiers first. Great fun having them look at a stick of dynamite and then explode it. Getting nasty in my old days... or impatient ?
Wishing you all good fun with outcast !

Thanks again

Jules
Hi,

you must take the green writing on the left, then at the bottoms you see the links to the regions (also see attachment with my beautiful arrows ;-)).

For cheating you also can edit the outcast.ini temporarily (first make a copy). Just search this entry
[Human]
Target_Assist_VerticalRange=0.300000
Target_Assist_Horizontal_Thickness=0.500000
SoldierVsBulletRadius=10.000000
HeroDamageScale=1.000000
EnemyDamageScale=0.095697
CutterVsZorkRadius=30.000000
CutterVsObjectRadius=30.000000
CutterVsBulletRadius=20.000000
CitizenDamageScale=0.000000
Just change HeroDamageScale from 1.000000 to 0.000000, that's all.

Hi Delgado,

This is also a very easy solution. Earlier I tried to speed up my bullet speeds but never got a result, they aleways stayed the same. I made sure it was again svaed as a xxx.ini file, however no result, so I thought that there was some protection built in, anyway I'll try the zero damage also...

I had a quick look at your Loesubg. png and indeed it does show the links. I discovered these also, after I wrote that I could not finf them...
Thanks again for your help !
Best regards,

Jules

Maybe you have to remove temporarily write protection of the file, but i'm not really sure, it's been a long time from now, that i did it.
Hi does anyone know how i can alter the ini files thanks.where do i find it thanks
