The topic basically contains all of what you need to know. I have been paying close attention to gog-sales for about 1 1/2 years and have never seen Outcast included. Same for Arx Fatalis, though in this case I'm not sure. It wasn't a personal priority for a long time.

Now I know that the price for both is already very low, but as a matter of principle I don't really buy games anymore unless there is a sale. I just though that you might know if there ever has been a sale for either of the two games and if there likely ever will be one.

Also, does somebody know how sales work? I mean: How much control does CD-Projekt Red actually have over what goes on sale and how large the discounts are?

Thanks for any answers in advance.
I'm quite sure I bought it at least 50% off during the 2013 #noDRM summer sale.

Even though I have a strong distaste for the game, now that the intellectual property is back in the hands of the original developers I think paying the full price is the right thing to do.

That wouldn't be the worst idea. I'm just asking because I have 5-6 € left on my paysafecard and have been itching to spend it on something. There is no point in waiting when I can not expect a sale to ever happen. But anyway, we are talking such small sums here...

But thanks in any case.
you could try contacting the developers directly, to ask if there are any plans for a sale any time soon.
i know they are active on the steam forums, so that might be the right place to ask.

the game is well worth the full price, though. but that's easy for me to say (since i really like the game).
if you'd check out the steam forums, you would see that they are putting in solid effort to fix bugs and to look out for any suggestions or questions anyone might have.

edit: also; i would suggest getting the steam version. there are complaints about updates coming later to gog than to steam. steam also auto-updates, which makes it all just go very smoothly :)
some updates are pretty significant, so it will suck if you have to wait for them..

well, that's just my two cents. hope you will be enjoying the game some time :>

I don't recall it being on sale since the rights passed to Fresh3D.
It was for sale in the Atari weekend promo:

Outcast $5.99
Atari Weekend Promo 12/07/13 - $3.90
order total: $2.09

Thus just before it changed hands (back to the original publisher, if I understand the above posts well?).

Back to the original developers, actually. Or at least the core members of the original team.
A couple of times in special promos in the past, but not very recently to my knowledge. However, I do believe it is on sale every Summer Sale at Steam for 25% off, if you want to save a couple of bucks. I do not recommend going through Steam though, especially if the game is available at GOG too, because Steam requires you to install extra software and login each time you play the game.
I bought Outcast from sale with $2.39. Date of my purchase was July 6 2012.
I have the original retail package but when I saw it on GoG I just had to pick it up (again). I got it for $1.59 Mar2013. It certainly has been on sale in the past.
