One reviewer commented on how "gay" the game is, and it certainly can be--if you're a gay male. What if you're a gay female? Or if you're straight and don't want to play as a female?

I got it because it was free and I was curious about how it worked. It's an interesting game, but it needs a female option for the kid next door in order for me to get immersed in the game. Only then would I be able to give it an objective review or consider buying further DLCs. Otherwise, I'll probably just delete it.

Doesn't seem like it. If you check the DLC schedule on the site you see planned DLCs for Derek and Baxter later this year.
Their next game, with a "mini-demo" currently available, will have two potential interests, one female and one "genderfluid" male.
