Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is one of my all time favorites, and as such I was very enthusiastic about getting a chance to play Abe's Oddysee.
In terms of the setting, and the presentation (visuals & sound), I was impressed. The setting, being Oddworld, is wonderfully strange and intriguing. The presentation looks and sounds awesome, despite the game's age.
What forced me to give this game a harsh 2 star rating was because it is an EXTREMELY difficult game. So difficult that at times the difficulty sucks away all the fun, and will make you wonder why you still insist on playing. After a while I got so frustrated by the difficulty that I quit the game. I have been playing games since childhood, and this is the second game I have quit so far. The developer should have been much more generous with the checkpoints, because even the slightest mistake means your character, Abe, gets killed. And everytime you make a mistake you have to pass through the same dangerous places over and over again. Games are supposed to be fun, and at this difficulty, you end up getting frustrated instead of having fun.
If you are the type of person who doesn't mind absurd levels of difficulty, then go ahead, you will get to experience a very interesting game.
