Hi, I'm currently in the process of updating my local backups to the version 2 installers, usually I don't have any second thoughts but I'm wondering about Stranger's Wrath.

Unlike in case of Stronghold GOG only provides the installer for the HD version of Stranger's Wrath now and I'm wondering whether I should keep the installer of the original version. I just prefer to have the option to get the original experience.

I'm wondering now what kind of update Stranger's Wrath HD really is. For one it seems that it was done by a third party, not the original team, so I'm skeptical considering the quality of the HD version (like in case of MDK2 where many seem to prefer BioWare's original, not to mention Silent Hill 2 & 3 HD). Is it purely cosmetic or does it include other changes as well? Are all features, controls, sounds, stability etc. identical? Can I go back to the exact look & feel of the original version by changing some options?

Thanks in advance.

You can still download the original version under bonus content section. The HD version is majorly aesthetical, more polygon, higher resolution for FMV, no drastic changes to the gameplay. Maybe with the exception of added bonus content, like artwork, video, concept art. Also you now can select 3 level of difficulties. The gameplay itself, it still same. The performance is bit random. If you're unlucky you might suffers from performance issue like several others (from Steam forum). For me the game run just fine but i have to disable any form of AA, since it massively slow down my game.

Oh before i forget, even though you can enable subtitle it's still buggy. Most of the time they'll disappear and reappear randomly.

Dang, indeed, I totally overlooked it. GOG really needs to introduce more consistency. I was expecting it to be just an alternate download on the left side of the download page. Forgot that in most cases GOG makes the classic versions part of the bonus content. >.<

Will probably just start with the HD version then.
Thanks for the info. :)

ne_zavarj: setup_oddworld_strangers_wrath_hd_2.1.0.12 exe
setup_oddworld_strangers_wrath_hd_2.1.0.12 rar
but when i try to install the game i'm receiving an " installer files missing " error message .
I haven't downloaded the newest version yet (I somehow totally missed the update) but your file endings seem just weird. Are you sure your second file has a "rar" ending? It shoud be "bin". Try replacing "rar" with "bin", maybe that will do the trick. Although I'm confused how a thing like that may have happend in the first place.

Edit: GOD DAMMIT.
