After saving most of the Mudokons on my first play through, I've started following up a hint in the manual that there's a surprise for players that get most of them killed instead.

Still early days, but I've already noticed something odd. Abe's cheery "hello" to his chums has turned very glum now that he's seen several dozen of them die. It's a nice touch from the developers, though it is making me regret my evil playing style.
Well, I did it. Around 280 Mudokons killed - either through various traps or by enemies, often through repeatedly slapping them until they die - and many simply because they were depressed and goaded into killing themselves. The end result was... Bulletproof Abe! I was sent back to the Feeco Depot, but now invincible.

Except... I wasn't. Some online research revealed that this feature doesn't work in the PC version (i.e. this one) because there's a bug in the code.

Oh well. Some time soon I'm going to replay it one more time, and get all 300 Mudokons safely home. I owe it to them after my brutal slaughter.
