Whenever I launch the game, I get no graphics or sound. Just a black screen is displayed. I tried using DDHack but it didn't solve the problem. Any possible solutions?

I know this is an old post, but does anyone have any ideas? I'm having the same issue. I start the game, I get the Oddworld disclaimer, then the screen goes black and I get a strange, intermittent noise that repeats for a couple seconds, then nothing. I have to shut the machine off to get back to Windows. Thanks!
