Here's my summary of the past week's tweets from @Vlambeer relating to update 99 and GOG.

August 16th: They said update 99 is coming to Humble and GOG tomorrow (that is, the 17th), Steam later the same week.

Then nothing about GOG for a whole week. No news on Steam or Humble about the update either, as far as I can tell (I own the game only on GOG). Looks like they missed the promised release date everywhere and haven't said anything about it since then.

The recent tweets are mostly about the PS4 cert process, which they hope to pass by the end of this week. Their previous build had only one issue, which mean they're at least close to passing it and getting the update to PS4 users.

Will they remember about the PC update after they pass PS4 cert? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Still no update it seems......
The 99 promised update isn't out on any platform, after nearly a year of teasing - and it was supposed to be merely a bug fix release. While the lack of v97/98 (which brought about as many issues as they tried to fix) on GOG is sad, labelling this as a GoG problem is unfair, when the issue seems sadly to be some sort of burnout/explosion at Vlambeer, and an obvious lack of courage (or just a lack of maturity) to state what the status of their studio might really be.
Rami Ismail tweeted about update 99 again a few days ago. He said Vlambeer "should be able" to bring it to GOG and other places "rapidly" after it goes live on PS Vita. Seeing how previous promised dates slipped by, I don't recommend getting your hopes up yet. This post is meant to inform you that they appear to be still working on it. The tweet is from Nov 30.

Now, I have no idea if the PC delays are because they have an agreement with PS/Sony to release the update on their platforms first or if there is something else going on. I'm still willing to give them the benefit of doubt with this, but I would tell anyone currently considering buying Nuclear Throne to wait until this update 99 business clears up.

any news on update 99 being on GOG please? i've checked Vlambeer's website and Steam forums and there has been nothing since the middle of last year from the developer. any info would be appreciated as i am waiting to buy this game. i won't until the developer lives up to the info they have been handing out.
So GOG version still without updates and GOG don't care again?
So there are no updates for this game on GOG? How can this be?
Update 99 went up on Steam recently, as announced on https://twitter.com/vlambeer . Past history suggests the GOG version won't be getting the update any time soon. In fact, I don't think it has ever received an update, so I am not exactly waiting for one this time either.

It has been disappointing. I can't say I would recommend purchasing the game on GOG either. Perhaps I'll play more of it one day, whatever state the GOG version will be in then, but for now there are plenty of other games on my to-do list.

Hey,

I can't answer this better than anyone else who reads the Twitter feed or visits other forums. As far as I can tell, there are no mentions from Vlambeer of GOG since the August 8th 2016 (yes, that is from last year) announcement they will bring out a game update at "Steam, Humble and GoG [in the course of August 2016]." ( http://www.vlambeer.com/2016/08/announcement/ )

Now, since it's been over a year, something has gone wrong with their plans. I'm not going to speculate on reasons or who is to blame. I just would like to see the same updates here as on Steam, or at least an announcement that the devs have been in contact with GOG about the most recent update. If you don't hear anything for a long time, it's easy to assume people who bought the game from GOG have been forgotten.

I can understand it's difficult for an indie studio to push updates in multiple places in a short time. It's reasonable to occasionally have to wait a little after an update on another platform to have the same update appear on GOG. It's also reasonable to note the past history of waiting over a year for what was promised to be done in a month. This is why my expectations are low in this case.

I am not going to post any more news or promises that come from Vlambeer. The only trustworthy news would be an actual confirmation of the update from GOG staff.

Since I don't want to end on a negative note, I'm glad to point out there are many games with proper developer support and up-to-date patches. I'm sure you'll get many recommendations for alternatives from the forums or your friends, if a particular game turns out to lack a little something.
OK big thx for all.

Hope the update is coming...wait and see
The devs kind of had a mental breakdown halfway through the final bugfix and didn't work on the game for a very long time. But a while back, they hired a fan who had fixed most of the bugs and merged his work into the game, and update 99 was recently released... on some platforms.

Last I heard they were working on the last few bugs that came with the update and, once they're sure that they've really got the final version of the game, they'll finally bother updating the game on all platforms once and for all.

I love this game so much I'll probably buy it again here... but not until it's updated.
I was about to buy this since it's on sale and I've had my eye on it for a while, but I guess I'll hold off.
Hopefully the GoG version hasn't been abandoned, this game looks very fun.

Is there hope? Or should I just give up on this game.

Thanks for letting us know.

I sadly cannot give that much credibility after last year's broken promise from Vlambeer, but let's see what happens.

Bought this game on GOG during launch day and I have already burned it before being able to ever play it properly updated.
Oh yes, these are merely promises and, in this day and age, promises are worthless. There is no guarantee that they're going to come through.

For those who haven't already bought it, I strongly recommend waiting. If they update, you can buy it and play it then. If they don't, you'll have saved your hard-earned money instead of giving it to liars. It's all good.
