Here's what worked for me.

Hopefully it will be helpful for you too guys.

I've got Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit
Intel Core i5-4590

Here are the steps I've followed in order to be able to run and play the game, hear the sounds and watch the cinematics:

1. Download the game
2. Turn off avast and install the game (I've used a custom directory, though that surely doesn't matter)
2. "Game.exe" -> set Compatibility mode: Windows 98 / Windows Me
3. "Nox.exe" -> set Compatibility mode: Windows XP SP2

4. Launch "Nox.exe"
5. Alt+Shift+Supr -> Open the Task Manager -> Close the process called "Nox.exe"
6. Launch "Nox.exe" again.
7. That's it!

No file modifications were required. The game now runs smoothly and even allows me to alt+tab and back seamessly. This trick (steps 4-6) also proved to work with Diablo II, Warcraft 3 and some other good old games.

I can confirm this also worked for me, under Windows 10. When I did step 5, I hit Ctr+Alt+Del to open the Task Manager, and then closed the process called Game.exe instead of Nox.exe because Nox.exe didn't show. Also, it was tricky because I only had a couple seconds to select Game.exe and hit end process before the screen turned black, so it took a couple tries. When I ran the game again, using the GOG Galaxy launcher, everything worked right. There was a little bit of cursor flicker at the menu screen.
Hi.

I got My copy of Nox from origin as an "on-the-house" deal

as EA does not believe in Customer Support, I tried the GoG forums in hope for a way to get the game to run.

Out-of the box the game insta-crashes and windows event viewer is the only way to find out what kind of crash it is.
it is an "Access Violation (0x00000005)" crash

Running the Game.exe as win98 compat and
Nox as Win Xp (Xp2) or Win89 compatibility and

I get the intro video but upon any key press or mouse click I get....

Access Violation Appcrash.

If I don't press a key or mouse button after the intro video finishes and the Nox video starts, I crash.

I tried the DDraw Wrapper that was linked in the earlier post, as well as DgVoodoo2 and I still get the intro video and then the appcrash.

As the game crashes on any keystroke or mouse click I can not alt+tab to task manager to attempt the "end process" workaround, I crash everytime.

For Me Nox is incompatible with my Windows 7 pro 64 bit. I don't believe it will ever run on my machine.

I have tried everything I can think of and this game is completely unplayable.
