I loved Nox quite a lot, I even have the original discs still! My question is this - has anyone had luck getting the LAN and all to work? I tried by using the actual Nox discs and all kinds of fixes and other things but just didn't have any luck. Does Hamachi get it going?

Also, does Nox run via dosbox emulation or does it just install/run per normal in Windows? I had some compatibility and other issues initially when installing it.

Thanks! :)

Nox is a windows game, so it's definitely not running under Dosbox. I also never had any problems playing in LAN with my CD version. Played both at home with by brother and in college with friends. Didn't have to do anything special. Not sure about Hamachi but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
I'm running a LAN party with my friends the past few days, no problems at all running co-op. Not tried versus (if that's what the other mode is), so that could have issues, but it's unlikely.
Cool, thanks! I'm running Win7x64 on a few PCs and for some reason it just would NOT work, it'd crash on one PC constantly, or never find the LAN game, etc. I may have to dig out my CD and give it another shot, thanks.
I can't play I get the error message: "your installation of nox is corrupt, please reinstall."

Except my Nox is NOT corrupt, reinstalling does nothing.
This is going through multiplayer->network NOT through westwood online.

Both PCs have windows 7, nox installed and antivirus exceptions added, LAN works fine elsewhere, etc.

It is something to do with the GoG version - my CD version LANs fine.
Gog's installer probably misses registry entries and/or uses one CD-key, or something like that. Better use the noxforum one.

Yes, I've been battling this all day, and this solution worked for me:

1) Go to Start, Run... and type "Regedit" to get to the registry.

2) Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Westwood\Nox

3) Right click on the key marked "Serial" and modify it by deleting the hyphens.

Strange but true.

Thank you MadMan88 it works perfectly now.

A note for anyone else who may be having trouble, you must install WestwoodOnline () and select the WestWoodOnine servers when going to play. Detailed instructions can be found here [url=]http://www.noxforum.net/index.php?topic=7566.0

This is the resolution! not sure if you need to have two different versions of Nox to play the game in LAN, just because I read this post after I purchased another version of Nox for my friend and getting the corrupt message.

Edit: seems to work with one edition of the game... well never mind,

Thanks MADMAN88. Your solution of removing the dashes in the serial number worked for me too.
