Hi there.

For about 2 hours I repeatedly triggered a freighter rescue mission by jumping into the same star system over and over, farming for a perfect A Class freighter.

When it finally showed up, I was short on Units. So, I went sold some stuff out of my inventories (which I had plenty, since due to another bug I am unable to transfer inventories when buying a freighter after rescue) and generally had the scanner going red-hot on the planets of that system :)

Returned to that fantastic freighter, only to find myself not being given the option to "Make an offer", but to "Transfer items from ship to freighter". To my own freighter. Its (empty) inventory was shown correctly.

I then tried reloading the planetary autosave, but as expected the freighter was gone.

So, if you plan on buying a freighter, bring the bucks, or this bug will bite you.

I own a 19 Slot A class with 28% Hyperdrive bonus, and the new one was 34 slots, A Class with 29%. And I needed just short of 130 million units.

Keep looking, Interloper! You'll find another, better one.

I wish they'd fix the bugs with the rescued freighter's captain. Used to be if you declined to purchase the freighter you would at least have an option to get a small reward (was one warp cell and an anti-matter).

If you accepted the option to purchase the freighter, you should be able to move inventory over to the new one. I've heard (complaints on Steam (?)) that doesn't happen and you lose everything in the old freighter.

yes. on steam ver you don't get option to transfer cargo or compare freighters side by side.

There might be three different cases here:

1. A freighter rescue event is triggered, when the player jumps into a system
That's what has happened to me.

2. A freighter rescue is triggerd, while the player is in a system
I can't remember what happened last time I did that. I'll check. Probably just about the same, as in the first case.

3. You land on a freighter, and offer to buy it
I think that's, when things work as expected: You get to compare and transfer inventory.

I think in pre-NEXT whenver you rescued a freighter in case 2, you first were offered a reward. Declining earned rep, taking just what dashiichi said. After that you could then talk to the captain again, and compare / transfer / buy, IIRC. ISTR, that in case 1, pre-NEXT you got no reward, but directly were offered the freighter, but I could be wrong.

In any case: +1 for bringing the pre-NEXT behaviour back.

Finally got her. She's pitch black, if not allmost directly hit by sunlight. Her red glowing edges and the red streak in the middle being the only things telling you, that whatever is blocking the light of the stars isn't a natural phenomenon.

I ran into her a few times during battle at full speed, even accidentially shot at her while chasing an attack ship, because I didn't notice the complete absence of stars ...

Originally this one was a 33 Slot Class A with 28% Hyperdrive. Since the game bugged me out of the hard earned perfect one, I decided to be a dirty cheat^W^W^W^Wcleverly trick the game into thinking, it's a 34/29%.


Pictured you see what I think is yet another bug. If you look closely, you'll notice, that she's in rescue mode. With no attack ships around, even after I gave them a while to show up, and no other freigher being attacked.


And yes, I couldn't resist showing off my almost-zero launch fuel cost Explorer :]
