So as most of you have probably noticed by now, with Prisms new starship updates got introduced: Launch Thruster Updates.

So far so good.

So I tried them out and installed 3 in parallel to the usual Efficient Thrusters, for a total of -80% fuel, but my Exotic on Normal still uses 10% of maximum fuel per liftup, instead of 5% as I expected.

- Do the Launch Thruster Update maybe not stack with Efficient Thrusters ?
- Or is it capped at 60% ? Or capped at 3 such items total ?
- Whats up with the X Grades that apparently give up to 25% then ? Would they allow to get to 75% ? Otherwise you would only save a slot with using them. OK not the first time X Grades are utterly useless.

I mean if really nobody knows I guess I can experiment myself. I'm just confused why apparently nobody has found out whats going on there yet. Is that a bug maybe exclusive to my own game ?!? Or is my google-fu so bad that I just cant find the discussion of this issue.
In case anyone wonders, they just make your thrusters better and better, but you still need SOME fuel.

The damn thing is that they also make your thruster boost faster so if you like to explore planets by flying over them they are damn useful.
I like to explore planets by flying over them (upside down, for a better view).

In my experience, using the thruster (without the new upgrades) results in some places "popping in" too late (like, after I've passed over, and it is now behind me, unseen). So I've been planet-exploring without using the thruster. Much better results. Seems like even faster thrusters would make the problem worse (for me, at least).

But good to know about the speed-boost, for when I am not just exploring.
Uh, balance upside down ? I guess thats in first person view then, and you have to keep pressing keys all the time to keep the ship that way ?

I just prefer to use small ships so I can still see stuff in third person view.

Rant mode:

That means mostly exotics.

Thanks to first wave exotics, thats not so hard to get them.

Takes a couple hours until you sorted though approx 20 or so drops and got like 3 to 5 20+6 drops (for some reason the 20+6 ones get the highest damage potentials, while 15+4 get the lowest damage potential) and pick the one that has the best combo of stats. I.e. base damage potential close to 245 and base hyperdrive range close to 166, while shields vary so little I just ignore them. With a fully upgraded Positron Ejector and high damage potential you can oneshot opponents anyway, if you hit them with the center of the blast up close, so shields arent so important really.

I would love to use hopper explorers with few to none appendages, which also gives you a pretty good third person view, if only I could find a ship like that that would have great stats after getting upgraded from A to S. I.e. close to 181 base hyperdrive range and 443 base maneuverability, which is the respective maximum.

Because you can still see stuff pretty well on a (star/grass-) hopper explorers, while the other kind - which people call slave / firespray (after boba fetts spaceship, which is called slave something something, or the general type of spaceship boba fett flies, which is called firespray 31, which however looks quite a bit different, especially when it lands), or k-basse (absolutely no idea what that refers to, goggle finds zip when fed this term) - blocks your view pretty well in third person.

However for some reason only the slave explorers are the ones who have high maneuverability, while hoppers apparently never ever do. Never seen one myself and never found one like that on the net.

Btw the best explorer I've found so far is this one:

Anchestral Mistress DG3
Slave/Firespray/K-Basse, Symmetric, White, Round Cockpit, with Solar Panels (kind of looks like a tiefighter)
Stats when upgraded from A to S (costs 50,000 nanites):
Damage Potential 56.6
Shield Strength 192.6
Hyperdrive Range 181.0 (maximum)
Maneuverability 437.3 (maximum I've ever seen on explorers and fighters is 442.9)
EUCLID: 1 bird / 0 sunset / 0 sunset / 9 galaxy / 0 sunset / 0 sunset / 12 tent / 3 diplo / 11 fish / 10 voxel / 1 bird / 0 sunset

It looks tolerable, especially considering its a slave, at least until you actually try to fly it and its body gets in the way all the time and you cannot friggin see where you're flying or what you're shooting at.

Fighters are even worse. Bottom line is I only really like the rasa style with halo wings and boxed thrusters. Suffice to say I found maybe two or three fighters on the net which look like that and their stats are all disappointing.

I can only tolerate boxed thrusters because the other two rotate. Single Thruster rotates itself, while tripple round thrusters seriously have an air intake up front as if this was an airplane and not a starship.

Halo wings are pretty small, also quite pretty, and they have simply no space for idiotic rotating appendages.

And Rasa is the shortest body, plus I think is the only body that actually looks like a starship body and not like an airplane body - no air intake, and no attempt to look specifically aerodynamic which is just absurd for a spaceship that flies at multiple kilometer per second - and it visually doesnt get in the way either.
