ksj8ak2: I'll quote myself from here:
https://www.gog.com/forum/no_mans_sky/how_to_start_in_vr_with_backup_download "
If there's no shortcut named 'No Man's Sky (OpenVR)' in your startmenu, locate your NMS.exe, create a shortcut, and then add '-HmdEnable 1' to the target, so that it looks like follows:
"<YourNMSInstallationPath>\Binaries\NMS.exe" -HmdEnable 1
Then try starting the game using that shortcut.
Edit: If you have SteamVR installed, that'll work. If you don't have SteamVR you'll need to install OpenComposite available from here:

Thanks for the tipp: -HmdEnable 1 works like a charm. Not only for NMS but also for alot of older titles.
The fun thing is: i connect my Quest3 via link cable to the PC open inside Quest the META menu my desktop and launch NMS.
Works like a charm !!!
in principle i created two shortcuts to NMS, one without the -HmdEnable attachment one with. So i can play in both modes easily.
