That's overkill. With all 3 hyperdrive upgrades (and conveniently all linked together for the bonus) and going to a black hole area with each warp, you will only travel under 2,000 light years, and I'm 170,000 away. I'd have to warp about 100 times - I haven't even warped 50 times playing normally every day since release.

And BTW the Atlas path doesn't take you to the centre. (It doesn't really take you anywhere or do anything.)

I also hear there isn't really anything in particular at the centre and you just get taken back to the edge of another galaxy. Then I saw someone else say, presumably a theory or myth, that you have to do this 3 times to get the 'real ending'.

I know it's sandbox but you can't go dangling that mystery and endpoint then make it impractical. I suppose I'm off to YouTube unless there's a cheaty way to get there.
