A friend gave me the gog installation for no mans sky today. I have installed the game but it does not seem to connect or load the game. When I launch the game it takes me to a menu to choose a mode. Once I do select a mode I just plays the logo and then leaves me in an never ending loop of stars. On the menu it says "attempting to connect" but it never gives me confiration on it's connection. I don't have any other tabs or anything for options, the only things I can choose are game styles of normal/hardcore/creative. ect. Worse yet is sometimes when trying to launch the game gog seems to fail to reccongize that the game is already installed and reinstalls the game. I can't seem to find any answers as to why this is happening and it almost seems like there is some secret DRM that is stopping from the game to work correctly. Has anyone else have this issue? If you bought a legit copy off gog and shared it with a friend have they also ran in to similar issues? I am also using Windows 10 if that makes a difference on where to go or how to properly install the game.

In No Man's Sky you first have to "initialize" the game (you can create up to 15 saved games,) You go to a free slot in the start menue - it's the best to take the "normal" Modus, and then - after the (long) loading time of the star map, you need to press the "E" button a little longer, which you can see in the attachment.

Then the launch sequence begins on a planet. Here you will get initial instructions, it is advisable to quickly mine or collect carbon, iron and sodium as this is needed to repair the suit. The next step is to find your spaceship and repair it as well.

I hope I could help you :)

not being funny matey but most of us bought it

and yes their is drm in the form of you have to have Gog Galaxy installed for the Expedition Six: The Blighted to work

all i can say is buy it
it's only £20 at the mo and you'll be supporting the developer
that way you'll be guaranteed to get a working ,non virus layden copy
is it worth £20? yes it certainly is just for the Expeditions

i could report this post but i'm not a grass

I do have gog galaxy and I did link the gog installer to my account like it asks. I am a bit confused then, if we got the game off gog shouldn't we be free to share with who we want? I never had this problem with other gog games we've bought. Maybe it's because the installer he gave me was from the past and not up to date with current NMS patches? Would that be a possible issue that would cause this?

See when I launch the game it just gives me all the modes to choose from and the message "attempting to connect". It also has the message to right click to go back but when I right click it flashes what appears to be a different home screen for a split second and instanty goes back to the choose yor difficulty screen. I've let it set on the stary load screen thing for a whole hour and nothing ever happened, it just keeps going and going.

I'm having a similar, I guess? Issue. Bought the game a few nights ago, installed it in my gaming PC (Win 10 Pro) and am unable to even create a manual save. Also get the loading of interminable length, I literally got up and made myself lunch. Oddly enough, the last night's playthrough had my credentials, but today, it's not. Kept telling me I am offline but my wifi is on. TBH, not that I mind, this is new - modern gaming in general, so I'm using the creative setting and just learning how to get around and do stuff, but still.. I found a really pretty world last night and was hoping to be able to visit it again.

Regards,
