I am hunting something better than this bland looking 24 A rifle, its 19/0/14% The guides suggest looking on high economy starsystems. And skipping any that produce a # C. I am after damage %. So I would like an Alien. Kinda useless to get a mining type, since we do not mine resources, but terrain manipulate them... well. My 1st qustion is what constitutes an S multitool and what constitues an exotic. Supposed to be like ships, isnt it? Is Experi.ental or Alien the S? Dunno. Or are they both the exotics? Curious, the best, high slot ones, I have only ever found were A types. Never any S's. I get a bunch of Alien and Experimental pistols. Just never any S 24 rifles. Any help is apprciated.

With the Explorer ship, Ive been warping. I found a low econ starport, showing a 24 A rifle. 14/014% Did the suggested 'scum saves' and return, to hopefully carry the 4 wpn types from that subsystem range, into the fat 24 slot subsystem(spaceport) Remote subsystem produced an Alien 9 Pistol. Upon scum saving, at this Habitat and returning not a bleaping thing changed. Has this method of obtaining wpns been nerfed.

It's two separate things. Much like ships, there are regular (rifles and pistols) and 'exotic' (alien and experimental).

Alien and Experimental are the 'exotic' multitools (they're quite rare). Unlike ships, the exotics can be class C to S. In my current game I've run across an experimental pistol and an alien pistol. Neither were S class (one was B and one was A).

As far as I know this is still supposed to work, but I've never actually tried it.

Strange, it wont switch. I must have goofed. Trick I think is using unsaved transport, that stargate thing. Instead of ship travel. I did not create a base and stargate at Alien multitool habitat, but simply scum saved, then proceeded to travel to spaceport stargate by ship instead of gate and upon exiting ship, overwrote my save... DOH! Ill retry with only stargates, and let ya know results.

Only scum saving in 24 A starport resulted in more bland 24 A types, but I had to wait. Scum saving alone does not force multitool to change. Havent tested gate travel directly from Alien pistol planet to 24 slot spaceport, yet. Stuck in scanning hell on a Paradise, tonite.
