Hi guys.

Abyss downloaded last night, and it was about 280mb. Go and watch a You Tube video and the PS4 player talked about a 5GB download! Anyone tell me what's going on here?!

Patching a game is better optimised on pc compared to consoles.

But 280mb compared to 5GB? Don't think you're right. But I suppose i'll find out if the Abyss stuff is there!

Well, I played, saw that under water has definitely changed, saw the new mission. So yes it's there.

Actually every update of NMS on PS4 and Xbox1 has been in the order of Gbytes while most of the updates on steam and gog are under 1Gbyte.

I wonder if with PS4 or X-BOX1 console you get better grafics when playing on a 4K monitor or 4K TV.

AFAIK, With the PC game you need to have a GTX 1060 to run 30 FPS with better than 1080p resolution, and a GTX 1080 for more than 30 FPS on a 4K device.

My understanding is it has to do with the way console versions are programmed and/or with the rules from Sony and Microsoft about how games are patched on the consoles. I think of it kind of like GOG's off-line installers where many of them have the entire installer updated as opposed to just a small patch file.
Well, I do have the various Abyss items at retail stores, so I am less worried now. You all have calmed me, as my first thought was "what am I missing!!! Cheers guys! :)
