Has the signal booster been removed or is it no longer required at the start. I havn't played the game for quite a while. I do have a Drop Pod Coordinate Data. Any help would be appreciated.

just replaying the game after scrapping steam,
no problems with signal boosters, though they seem to work differently now (can't enter navigational data),
still good to locate things.

Portable tech of booster wasn't available from the start, but it showed up soon.

Two alternatives:

1. Go to cartography vendor in a new space station and you can get some of planetary chart data/maps which can be used on any planet.

2. Use scanner in exocraft.
