It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Or so it seems. When downloading from GOG launcher, it says 21GB but downloads 16GB and when installing, you get pop up window that asks you to locate part 6

I'm having the same problem. Very strange.
Perhaps I should hold off buying this game until they fix this.

Just used the Galaxy download option for the offline installers and all 7 files downloaded correctly, i remember there being an issue a couple of months ago when i downloaded them, but now it seems ok

No need to put off buying it as all offline installers can be downloaded via web browser instead of via galaxy if it is having issues

Just tested the galaxy download option for the offline installers and it downloaded every single file with no issue

Several users on Steam have reported problems with their antivirus software blocking or deleting one of the new or changed files. Several have claimed that Avast blocked nms.exe. Some others have reported different antivirus software as having a problem and suggested that a different key file was being blocked.

I am not saying that this is what is causing your problem(s) but this does often happen after updates.

I tend to wait until most of the fatal bugs are worked out before allowing NMS to update to a new version. Patches I am not as concerned about.

Before allowing patches to download I try to:

1. Manually backup save files. This is because there may be changes to the save file format rendering a later save incompatible with previous versions of NMS. This update did make changes to the save file.

2. Create a restore point in case I find a need to roll back to the previous version.

3. These will not help anyone that has already installed the new version but something to think about next time.

Good Luck

EDIT: One of the standard things to check is whether or not you are running mods. This is a new version of NMS and any pre-existing mods are unlikely to be compatible with a new version so one should either delete the mods or at least check to see if the mod is compatible.
