PS has anyone taken note of the games default JSON settings, in case Hellogames does update the game to allow them for offline, and the settings you manually applied somehow mess up the game?. Just a thought.
The current values for the two variables in question are:

ShopNumber: 26
ShopTier: 3

I made a backup and changed those values to see what happens.
It seems the game just checks if those values are greater than a certain number, as long as the value in the savegame is greater than the value (presumably) in the game code, everything is ok.

If anyone who is playing online reads this, would you mind checking those values in your current savegame and post them here?

I just realised that I mixed something up.

The numbers I posted recently (ShopNumber: 26, ShopTier: 3) were the numbers I got from the video.
I scribbled those on a PostIt to remember them, and did forget that they are not the current numbers.
Sorry!

So I checked again today in my savegame.

I have:

ShopNumber: 4
ShopTier: 0

Those are my numbers playing OFFLINE ONLY.

Would an online-Player mind giving us the current numbers after the 2.41-patch?

Whats wrong with raising these number just high enough, like 99, as you posted here:

Does this have other side effects like previously unavailable items in other shops?
Otherwise it would be really a pain in the ass having to edit the savefile everytime an update comes along.

I'm still new to this game and just had my first warp jump, but this whole "screw you, offline players!"-situation already annoys me deeply...

So far I have not noticed any negative side-effects of just raising those numbers.

Asking for the current "correct" numbers really is just some safety-measure, in case simply raising those numbers shows some ill effects later.

That way we can keep track with the numbers, you never know if or when one might need them ;-)

Maybe I'm just overly careful...
Just wanted to say a big thank you for this guide: I'm going to purchase the game tomorrow, but I was pissed by the online only content.

One question thoigh: does that enables the living ship quest and completition? Also, is the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion available offline to buy items from him?
