Once I updated and tweaked my Nvidia drivers as recommended it ran pretty good. Then Nvidia came out with optimized driver/settings for No Man's Sky and the upcoming Obduction. Now NMS runs great.

I'm on a Mac Pro (2010 model), Nvidia GTX Titan X (2014 model), Windows 10 (in BootCamp).

So the original advice, to update drivers and install the latest GOG updates, is sound.

As a Mac-user, I use Apple's Bluetooth trackpad and Wacom tablet. Great for graphics, terrible for WASD games. Any recommendations on a good 3-button "game" mouse? (middle button/wheel).
Or should I just map my controls to my Xbox (wired) or PS3 (Bluetooth) gamepad?

Thanks

I am a keyboard and mouse use and control pad user. I use the mouse keyboard for land and station exploration and the Xbox control pad ONLY for flying.

I find the Logitech g500 series or G700s exceptional mice for playing games like these. They are a good size for my big hands and have enough buttons for most quick commands (although NMS doesn`t recoginise the side buttons yet which is really unusual, they can be configured through the mouse software though).

Also you can edit the smoothing of your mouse in options as my mouse was very sensitive until I did this.

^ This...this is the best way to play the game. It also adds to the immersion by having two different game play methods for the different game mechanics between FPP and Flight Controls. I have an old school Dual Shock Logitech using XBOXce to map properly, works just fine.

Thanks Nipsen, I'll try both. preferring the PS3 if there's no BT lag.

Thanks, Socratatus, I, too, have big hands and I've used Logitech in the past. I'll try it out.

Hi Kalron, excellent point, about the immersion factor.

Now all I have to figure out is how to extend the game across dual monitors. Nvidia had a demo showing the Titan card running the game with 3-4K screens. ;-)

Me too. Try scpserver, if you haven't already. Latest "beta" is probably the way to go https://github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit/releases/.

Have to reserve the hub (possibly the internal hub) for the ds3 pad. But generally works well, with internal or external bt cards.

Have to say, though - unless they add... fifteen layers of depth on top of either the space or ground combat system, you could ace this with a clicker joy-stick with four directions and one button.

But it's nice to have the analog control on the pitch and so on. A "slide" was mentioned as well. Presumably something like releasing the guidance trusters for a short while. But.. accuracy just doesn't matter.

It's not quite like I-War, or something like that, I guess is what I'm saying :)

Nice to see someone thinks the same. It does feel more immersive swapping to the joypad for the ship. I would`ve liked it for my Sidewinder FF joystick, but NMS doesn`t recognise it.

Got my G700s game mouse in today. Really nice fit and features. I've dropped off the face of the planet to play OBDUCTION on Wednesday (huge MYST fan since 1993) and I use my X-box controller in my left hand and the Logitech mouse in my right. Works great.

The Logitech also works wonderfully In Mac OS 10 El Capitan. Logitech just released a Mac update this Aug. with updated features. Love all the programable buttons.

Thanks again, Socratatus, for the advice.
