Yes. The gizmoid to the right of the Play button has a drop down list. The top item, Additional Executables, has the VR enabler widget.

There was also some discussion about this earlier this week. Search the forum for Oculus. I'd explain it better but I'm VR-less, so no hands-on hints ... it's on my Real Soon Now list, though. ;-)
Is there anything extra that VR mode does but the normal game doesn't?
For example some games won't let your head look freely around unless you're in VR mode. Is this the case here?
Are there any modes to allow you VR extras in the game for desktop users?
I just bought a quest 2, which i almost took back lol, cause they make u get facebook and it was depressing. Its also depressing the only way to make it work is steam vr. It 100 percent does work though i just played it.

I had to make a gross steam account download steam vr, and then launch it from the extra exe and it worked.

Just played it for like 2 hours with the quest 2, works good. Just remeber you will need a hefty computer. I can play om enchanced settings, the second aa setting, and the ms stay under 11 at 90hz with the resoultion bar almost to the last mark on occulus. That is with a 5.2ghz 10700k all cores, 2070 super ocerclocked, and 3200mhz ram plat corsiar.

I may jump into the VR pool but I have no interest in Facebook. Is a Facebook account needed only to do the installation or registration or something like that or is it needed "forever" in order to use the Quest 2?

Nope required to use it, and you cant make a fake account or they ban you. They locked it down lol, it def sucks. There is really no way around it either, all the other vr helemts suck compared to the rift or quest in terms of easy use and tracking.

You could go htc, but the cosmos has horrid tracking, and is super expensive if you want wireless.

I had a htc cosmos, it sucked, it couldnt track my hand when i reached back to grab the mining gun. Htc also requires a account with them.

You got steam with the index, which i never did buy, but its going to require a room just like the htc pro. Atleast with index though you could make a fake steam account to use it.

As far as the quest 2 goes,i have never owned a easier to use vr helmet, my friend and i used it yesterday to play local bowling, and we just passed the quest back and forth. I have had rift s, htc vive, cosmos, psvr, and none of them worked like that. If you tried to give any of those head sets to a friend they wouldnt be able to see because the lens requires you to line it up with your eyes. I am sure the index is the same way. Thats not getting into the complex set up required for all those base stations.

The only down side besides facebook, which i just sucked it up and got it, is occulus link streams it to your pc, you can see if you look the blurry textures from it compressing the signal, but it is extremely minium. I decided to get a rift s for no man sky, and use the quest for portable vr.

Also remember nms for vr requires a hefty computer, i have a 2070 super and 10700k 5.2 and it can handle around enchanced settings with the resolution of 90 pwrcebt of the quest, at 90hz. If you get it over 10ms on the steam preformance chart it starts to skip and can make one sick.

If you dont want facebook that leaves valve index. If you are adevnterous :) You could try that open source vr head set, but it would require you to program everything im sure. It also was like 800 bucks, and didnt come with anu trackers i dont think.

Well, that sucks. I have as much interest in joining Facebook as I do spending a day dropping bricks on my toes.

Oh well, I probably won't miss what I've never used.

Yeah i agree with you on facebook it was a real issue for me, i contemplated for over a hour lol. With the rift stuck on thr login to facebook screen.

Though I dont really see what they do that is any different than , steam, or htc. They all want to get your game play statistic, but you can shut it off. I am sure both still keep a record, but you can delete your facebook any time I made sure lol.

I just bought a rift s yesterday before they sell out, since they dont make them any more. Facebook def has the lock down on tracking it works perfectly. I played a game called blade and sorcery which basically hands you medievil weapons and you can kill people , very good work out haha.

Anyways if you ever decide to try, just dont get tricked they try to get you to install facebook on your phone. If you ignore facebook though, it really doesnt do anything. There is no information they can get from the occulus, other than games you play, and how long . It doesnt like autopost to your facebook.
