Ok, This game is dumb. I've been walking for hours digging up the whole damn planet. There is no buried technology and I cannot progress the Awakenings quest. There is no buried technology icon in my visor either. I've also checked other planets that I can reach. Not having fun and getting tired of playing this.

That's weird. Do you have both the analysis visor and scanner equipped? Are you using (default keys) F to bring up the analysis view or only C for the scanner? Where are you digging?

Looks like there are still alot of bugs in this game. Yes I didi have the visor and scanner and I watched YouTube walk-throughs and my game was not the same. Anyways I just cut my losses and started a new game. That problem is gone now.
