NMS was routinely hanging for me - forcing me to ALT+F4 to crash out. In almost every instance the sound kept working and the game was still running, but the graphics were frozen.

I have SOLVED this by disabling GOG's in-game dashboard - found in user preferences, from the drop-down GOG logo.

EDIT: NOT SOLVED. Flipping game just hung up on me. Albeit first time in a while!

Ah -- too bad . I also had the game hang like that for two times now since upgrading to 2.12, and had hoped for your workaround to rid me of that :/
