Still playing version 2.24

Are the NPCs in the nexus fixed so they respond correctly when the player is offline (Installed from off-line installers and not using Galaxy) or has the ability to get Nanites for discoveries and accomplishments been permanently removed now that they've been moved from Polo and Nada to Helios and Ares?

In my game, Helios will talk to me ONCE and Ares never will. Both will respond with "come back another day"
I might be wrong but I think the static NPCs in the Nexus anomaly should work ok in an offline single player game.

If they dont report it to Hellogames as a bug report https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

We dont get NPC ships flying in like they do at a space station (though I dont understand why, if the game can handle multiple players in there, why not have NPC ships for us offline players).

I'm still running the game via GOG Galaxy so I can participate in the Experimental updates .. One day I want to get Galaxy uninstalled again though and hope everything works as intended.

For now though I cant say what should be happening or not, but surely those two shop keepers should not need any online connectivity.

The Nexus weekend missions will obviously need it, and any community spawned updates to what items are available in the QuickSilver store I guess we should get in the next update to the offline backup installers after the event has unlocked the content.

I completely agree that those two shop keepers should not need any online connectivity in order to work correctly. And now that living ships have been added to the game (and not explicitly as a multi-player feature) the ability to purchase the required materials shouldn't need online connectivity either.

While we're at it, there shouldn't be random quests on worlds in single-player mode which require online connectivity (like one I encountered that required placing a message buoy that refused to be built because I wasn't connected to the Hello Games server). However, Hello Games hasn't been paying too close attention to what should or shouldn't be lately.

Until such time as the game is fixed so that single player functions don't need an online connection to work correctly, this title needs to be classified as requiring an online connection to run. And it should stay that way until either Hello Games fixes the problems or officially states that the fact that it doesn't work correctly offline is a bug they intend to eventually fix. Those of us who aren't Steam or Galaxy users are usually patient, but we deserve at least an assurance that it IS on the to-do list.
