The game will never let me have a crashed ship. After i turned one down, I have had a few crashed ships that I can't get to. Going out in space doesn't work. Running to it instead of flying doesn't work. I just will never get another crashed ship.

Don't worry, I got worse. No V2 or V3 chips ever offered over 40hrs of gameplay and the only blueprints I get
is something that I already owe. But I don't.
Same here, I am sometimes temped to not even look. I finally got to that ship, it's only a one slot upgrade but it will have to do, can't afford to buy one. The prices are high.
The crashed ships you find have either 1 less, the same or 1 more inventory slots than your current ship. Its random but it can only ever have 1 more slot.

Why cant you get to them?

Same with me. Must be 70+ hours now and never recieved a V2 or 3. But then I travel randomly for the most part.

As for crashed ships there are always some. If you can`t reach it it`s likely because it`s on the other side of the world. Get into space, fly at an angle to where it`s almost below you, dive down.

And I`ve only ever found ships of one extra slot if that. I only change them if I like their look better.

It`s no biggie, take your time, people, don`t get frustrated. Rest, take a cup of greenleaf tea and... chill.
Do take crashed ships if they have more inventory slots. The repairs are worth getting new inventory slots.

Also, I played 60 hours without getting a new Atlas Pass. Then I started concentrating on doing operations centres. Got the V2 within 2 hours (about 10 centres). It seems you only get them there (at least the V2). But don't worry, the stuff you can get behind those closed doors is not that spectacular anyway.
Every ship I've found has had one less inventory slot than my current ship. I've given up on looking for crashed ships. I'm just going to do lots of boring grinding in order to afford a good ship.
I was finding crashed ships all the time with one slot more than what I had. I wanted to wait for that special ship with 5 or 10 more slots than what I had to make it worth it, never knew it was limited to +/-1 slot. Now I can't find any.

I bought a ship early on that had +10 slots, just to get a jump start on things. After that i always grab the ones i find with +1.

Up to level 39 now, and the cost of ships has gone through the roof, so i will just keep plugging along +1 at a time.

Yeah, I finally got to one, was already in space and saw the Icon. I drove down on it, it still seemed like it wanted to move away even though I was right on top of it.
I take my time no hurry so 1 slot sometimes ok.

Happen to land on toxic planet with vortex cubes in caves easy to pick up so i gathered many near a selling point and go me after while couple of million and bought a 28 slots from korvax i had 20 slots so nice upgrade.

Plenty of planets that have things like cubes or other items to harvest and sell and make some money so you can buy a new ship from traders.

But if i see a crashed ship that looks very nice i take it even its 1 slot up.

Take your time people game is not rush to center or need to be fast 48 slots so you can finish the game.

After 30 hours im only 28 slots ship i don't care if it take me another 30 hours to get 10 slots more.

Having fun thats matters not how fast i get things.
I just ground it out. Took me the weekend and 4 planets but I've now got a 48 slot ship. The difference with combating space pirates is amazing. I’ve gone from struggling with 2 or 3 pirates to taking out 28 with ease.

Grinding the crashed ships has got to be the easiest way. I found a planet with lots of gold on it and it took much longer to get 3mil credits (with which I got a 24 slot ship) than to go from a 24 slot ship to a 34 slot ship by finding crashed ones.
Looking for crashed ships and changing is not an issue for me.
I use chips to find transmission towers, solve the riddle aka number sequence and just follow the signal.

When I find it, I pass if it's a slot less, and I change if it's a slot more. Sometimes I find +2 slots, but that is more scarce.
I'm on a 24 slot now, happy with it and hoping for the next without any kind of rush.

Uninstalling devices on your old ship gives you enough resources to repair the new one normally. On the last one I had to add materials to repair the warping device, not much of an issue.

Keep using the transmission towers and your life grinding crashed ships will be easier.

Find a Gek planet. Find one of the orange beam things. Search for transmissions.
Keep searching until you find a "transmission tower". Then go there. It will be a building.
Go inside and solve the puzzle at the terminal. You will get coordinates of a crashed ship.
Now access the same terminal again, solve same puzzle again, and you get a new coordinate for crashed ship.

Just keep doing that 20-40 times and have fun going on an upgrade spree. Apparently only works on Gek planets.
30 hours only have 28 slots ship i still find them but most of them are ugly. I just build stome money to buy one from trader.

But im not in hurry.
