Socratatus: What did you expect? For the ENTIRE game to have quintllian planets all procedeurally generated in one go, at the same time on today`s computers? Do you understand the the processing power and storage capability that would be required of a computer today to do all that without some kind of loading system?

I doubt there is one outside of NASA and scientific thinktanks that exist.
I suppose bloody Minecraft only runs on NASA computers and scientific thinktanks since it can remember absolutely massive spans of land without a hitch. And no, the environments No Man's Sky generates are actually not that big, especially since the game only really needs to remember those you have visited.
>>>> What did you expect? <<<<

Simple, not being lied to. I will not bring up this reddit article where every lie from HG is nailed perfectly, but HG did fool us perfectly well.

Would not nag if only half of the statements made were lies.
Fine! Whine away or play minecraft if it`s so bleedin` good. I`ll go enjoy my game.
Just wanted to add to conversation from yesterday.

You can definitely see markers from space, not 100% sure under what conditions, but my guess is it is the locations not found yet. I always find way more locations the more I explore so it helps me know the areas I've been on a planet and I kinda use it as a rudimentary map so I remember where I left off. I have screenshots of it in action, even markers on the next planet over.

Also I have found a planet with tons and tons of life on the ground and in the air. Larger animals too. One I watched a while and saw it use it's back leg to scratch itself like a dog or cat would do.

Cool stuff, good times.

justporter: That is the very reason I believe each planet HAS to be local info only(except the naming/discoveries is shared). And HAS to be cleared at some point. I would guess its when you leave the system.
This video shows an interesting thing - two guys 'met' (couldn't see each other) at the same spot - both planets had same generated terrain (only the left player has mined the column) - so, it looks like that the number is actually 'stored' within HG servers and if you are online, the planet will remain the same every time you or any other player visit it, only the resources will be different (not tapped) for others.

Also about creatures not moving plant life, if you look carefully, small creatures will move the grass as they run through it. Also i`ve been on planets with grass everywhere- lush. Noticed it today. So I suspect really big ones will break stuff, we`ll see. Saw outposts with animated radar discs on top and moving columns.
