Is there crossplay between Steam and GOG?

Thank u!
It'll prob depend how the MP is setup - my guess is yes
you should be careful, you can catch a disease that way!
no man sky server are not hosted at GOG.
so it's mainly an HG decision...

Maybe more info in the patch note ?
The steam version use the steam friendlist... not a good sign.
The better question at this point is whether or not we are even going to get the update to begin with...
We may be able to add the game to steam and do it through the friends list like that if you have friends that own it on Steam.

Also, wish GOG would say something, I'm eagerly waiting to play. It looks great.
I am not sure how they changed it in the Update but previously you had to use a Portal to get around, almost every Celestial had one, you would just get the Code, give it to your friend, they would activate the Portal and there you are. Like Stargates (the TV show) basicly.

So even if they added in some "Join your friends through your friendlist" thing if the Portals are still there you can play together.

But only if you can use this portal already and it is not clear if it is then like you playing with friends or only to play with other players, which means no "friends" features.

Right now on Steam you can start a complete new games together with friends, they join you directly beside you.

At this point I must say that it is very sad that one of the few games that I wanted to support this platform, gog, is being a fiasco in this way.

For example, some time ago I wanted to buy Necropolis, and it ended up without MP in GOG and that's why I did not buy it.

Finally, unfortunately and although the fault is not GOG and support the work they are doing and their ideals, possibly choose not to buy here games that are susceptible to be updated.

Or perhaps gentlemen of GOG, you offer me some alternative or a good reason?
Ultimately it's not GOGs fault that Hello Games isn't just making a Lobby system for starting a Game together, where you get a Code, share it with your friends, they join the lobby, everyone is happy.

Also G(ood)O(ld)G(ames) the middle part is important here.

On GOG you get games without DRM for the full (if you can't wait), or a reasonable price (when they have a sale). You get offline installers and most importantly: Games that would not run in their original 'Final Patched' version from the Developer on modern Operating Systems.

It is not Steam, it can't be Steam. Thats a good thing.

GOG dropped the name Good Old Games officially when they decided to start selling new games. However, it seems like that didn't drop it in spirit, since we only play old games here.

Also, not being Steam isn't a good thing here, where we never received the Atlas Rises multiplayer since we're not Steam.
Well i just looked through some stuff and there is no multiplayer in the GOG version of No Man's Sky... they say they want to provide an update with it later this year... this is a bummer

Even the update makes it sound like there won't be any crossplay.

I'm assuming this until they clearly state that there will be some form of crossplay.
