Somewhere along the line I got a currupted file. Not sure where but My game will not start at all. When I hit play sometimes it goes to the first screen ( before the movements sorry I can't remember the word but I believe it is the company name.) other times the curser spins 3 or 4 times and stops while still in the GOG menu. but all in all I cannot get into my game. 54 hours and 16 trophys all down the tubes :(. I've been goofing on the same planet just for fun and had over 150 words figured out. but back to my problem. is there any way to keep some of what I've gotten and accomplished or will I have to give it all up? I'm pretty sure that the saves are gone or I'd at least get somewhere but I cannot get into the game at all. All I did was log out like normal but with my mainboard problems it could have apiked the gam. it has shut me down enough times :(. any ideas?
I have already tried the verify/repair. start with admin priv. and 3 or 4 more things short of an uninstalling and reinstalling.
have you tried backing up your save and then deleting it?

that might at least help to determine if its a problem with the game itself or your save file.

if you remove the save file and it still wont start...theres a good chance simply reinstalling the game and putting the save file back will correct the problem.

if removing the save file allows the game to start...well then i dont think theres much you can do besides start over, i could be wrong and maybe someone else has a better idea.

You are right, Game is fine I removed the save files and it starts up fine. Now can I find a way to keep any of my previous equipment or do I have to lose all 59 hours of my labor and my new ship ( with 20 slots) and my new laser mining gun?? or my 5 million tokens/credits? is there a way to keep anythingthing?

I believe that`s impossible. You`d have to go into your old save and somehow remove the items from that. Without being skilled in code, I doubt it can be done.

If you backed up your saves, you could try to put one of them back (hopefully one that isn't corrupt) in the save folder.
C:\Users\%usersname%\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS\DefaultUser\cache
Delete all of the ones in there and put one of the old ones in. It's a long shot, but better than losing all 59 hrs.

you are probably right. I was kind of hoping that the way the stuff is listed that each line would represent an item or something. would be nice especially id I can get my slots back on my suit. I now have about 30 slots in mine :(
