Just doesn't seem like there's an incentive to pre-order a digital edition if there's nothing special. The page doesn't indicate a discount. it doesn't indicate any swag/goodies either.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it?
If you can't see the incentive/goody indication on the GOG game page, you should seriously have your eyes checked.

No discount whatsoever, but we do get an exclusive pre-order ship if we do buy it now.

According to this post it's technically not exclusive, but highly unlikely to encounter it otherwise.

I really need my eyes checked =_=

"Pre-order now and kickstart your adventure in No Man's Sky's vast, mysterious universe with the Horizon Omega ship"

I don't see how I missed that.. Guess I was looking more for the "+ Manual, + Soundtrack" items rather than the big bold text....

Now I feel silly...
Right, this game has an in-game goodie for preorders on gog.com. Because of this reason i wanted to start a thread on gog.com.

As you should know: preorders are bad. The gog.com staff curates the games, so you are very unlikely to preorder an "Alien Isolation" here. But form times to times you won't get the game delivered that you have been dreaming of, even on gog.com. Take Trine 3 for example: a nice game, way to short, controls aren't that great. Many people preordered it here, because Trine 1 & 2 where fabulous, so part 3 must be great to. A few days after the release many people where disappointed.

You know what's also bad? In-game exclusives for Platform "X", the special edition, an mostly pre-orders.
Play Soul-Calibur with Link? Only on Nintendo. Want't to fight with Darth Vader? Only on Playstation. Play the new Warhammer 4k with Space Marines? Only with the Special Edition that includes all DLC.
You want to have a good ship to survive in space instead of an rusty tin? Only if you pre order the game that haven't received a full review by anyone.

What's the difference between this pre-order bonus and the pay2win stuff EA does? As you know mostly anything in this pay2win games can also be archived without paying, it's just very unlikely you will get it.

IMHO this kind of pre-order goodies are bad and i would be glad if gog.com would keep up their distance from offers of this kind.

Actually GoG doesn't have any pre-order goodies specific to them. The ship and hyperdrive are available on the Windows PC version regardless if you get it on Steam or GoG.

I guess I should also have clarified that what I was looking for as far as GoG bonuses for pre-ordering were:
1.) Was $60 a GoG only rate or was this also the same price as other retailer? (checked on Steam and google and seems to validate it's $60 USD everywhere, so no discount).
2.) Any pre-order bonuses? From what I've seem, all retailers have the same bonus for pre-ordering: The Omega ship and Hyperdrive.
3.) Any add-ons similar to other GoG games (i.e. manuals, OSTs, etc.). The page doesn't list anything yet so I have to assume none.

@xeniac: Can't agree more. I won't ever pre-order a game, and that goes double for a game that provides pre-ordering people with extra in-game content.
It's an extremely vile thing to do, forcing people to either buy the game now and not knowing if the game is any good, or don't pre-order it and miss out on getting the full game later.

If only everyone would stop pre-ordering so game publishers are forced to stop this nonsense. *sigh*

@bravoman to be clear: I have the same stance as @Gotcha, it's vile to force people to buy a game, without knowing if it is any good. Providing the same bonus content to every retailer makes them just a little bit less evil.
If you can afford to buy a $1000 gaming rig then theoretically you can afford a $60 game. Not saying its fair, its just how its packaged.

Not saying that I wasn't willing to shell out $60 for a game. It's more of traditionally, pre-orders on GoG (or pre-release purchases) have always come with a slight discount (Maniac Mansion, I'm looking at you!). I wanted to confirm that $60 for No Man's sky was either Full Price or GoG Discounted.

From what I've read, it's full price.

Also, I wanted to know what sort of goodies the digital edition would give us. The splash page is not exactly forthcoming and the PS4 limited edition comes with manuals, art books, and an OST CD. The GoG edition doesn't even mention a manual hence my confusion.

Given the above (and the fact I am starting to agree with not pre-ordering stuff), I'll just wait until I have more info on the game. Not as if it's going to get more expensive come June. XD

In that case I would love see more ship content, seems fair if PS4 has manuals, art, ost etc. It would be cool if they added two more ships similar to the Horizon Omega or one leet beefy one which you need to spend crazy resources on to actually build and fully enjoy.
PlayStation gets a gun, creds, a ship and art book and very special comic book though Dark Horse from one of the guys on Watchmen :/

Id love to have that comic and art book as a digital add-on pack here at gog down the line... along with the soundtrack ^_^
