Not that I would complain at all if NMS was still updated in, say, 20 years.
But I kind of doubt that will happen. They will run out of ideas, or funding, at some point.
And quite honestly the game, while of course still full of oddities and weird bugs, feels rather complete now, dont you agree ?
Not that I would have any lack of ideas how to make the game even better, like:
- More realistic and varied galaxies. Currently all galaxies are like Messier 87, sorta. There are actually all kinds of galaxies.
- Getting a choice where to travel from a galaxy core.
- More realistic planet sizes (would need to be a lot bigger).
- Large rocky planets (high gravity makes extra tech necessary).
- More realistic distances between planets; planets on real orbits.
- Realistic moons. Currently a planet can have two moons, which in practice isnt possible, unless they are on different orbits.
- Double planets.
- Gas and Ice giants. Cant land on them.
- Venus like planets - intolerably high heat in the 700K range, cant land on them either.
- Wandering planets, i.e. planets outside a star system.
- Stars without planets.
- Star systems with more than 7 planets and moons.
- Realistic multi star systems (that means they are hierarchical. You cannot actually have three stars rotating around a common center; this isnt stable. You also cannot have planets around double stars unless they are very close to one of the stars, or very far from the two stars alike. Etc).
- Ability to harvest from stars.
- FEMALES.
- Recluse species who deny outside contact and fight all foreigners, but can be the source of unique tech.
etc etc etc etc
But the vision HelloGames had originally seems to be quite fulfilled.
