so i the weekend thing requires me to feed and tame creatures than grab their eggs, alas there is a proiblem i can not seem to deal with reasonable (potencialy because i am too stupid?).

both collect eggs and mount are on same button (obviously) so holding (space) may show collecting egg progress but ends up with me mounted on the creatures instead... reliably so EVERY SINGLE TIME.

is there a way i can choose which action to perform?

Check your keyboard mapping. I do not know if you have remapped any keys or not but there may be times when the same key is mapped for multiple actions.

Control Options > Remap Controls > On Foot then check the Perform Interaction and Secondary Interaction (have to scroll down). I currently have Perform Interaction remapped to the "E" key and the Secondary is set at the default of "Space" and do not have the issue that you described.

EDIT: I should add that with the Perform Interaction and Secondary Interaction as above pressing "E" allows me to collect items like eggs and milk while "Space" is to ride although I don't waste the effort on riding.

I just use the E key, never needed any remapping.

Well see the point is the E key does not cause the same problem for me, with the games normal setup. collecting eggs works fine and does not immediately transition to forcing you into mounting an animal.

I was wondering if you may have a problem using the E key instead, or any mods installed.

Anyway up, doesn't matter as you seem to have a workaround for whatever the issue is in your case.
