The economy scanner used to find trading posts before NEXT update. At the time, I stopped playing because I didn't feel like starting all over again. However, I've come back. I installed the economy scanner and it no longer seems to find trading posts. Has anyone else noticed this?

No. I use the economy scanner all the time to find trading posts. The behavior you describe is not consistent with my experience.

Sorry if this isn't much help. At least now you know it isn't a systemic problem and possibly is one local to your installation.

Make sure you're in-atmosphere when you scan, and make sure there isn't already a trading post flagged somewhere else in the system. Like ditchinit, I use it quite often and haven't had any issues.

Do you know if damaged slots would prevent it from working? I salvaged my ship and it still has some damaged slots.

It shouldn't affect it. Maybe double check to make sure the Economy Scanner isn't actually damaged?

Is it possible that you're expecting the Economy Scanner to find trading posts using the normal ship's scan function? I ask because I also took a brief hiatus and then was like "WTF? Not finding any trading posts?" until the slap-my-head moment when I remembered that the TP scan is under the quick menu options.

OMG, that was it! Thank you! I could swear it was done with the regular scan. I didn't think of looking in the quick menu.
