I don't understand why either. What happened? Currently all my stations don't work. They act like I can't proceed with the people. Saying I best leave them alone.
Simple... Hello Games don't like you to continue playing on your savegame.
They don't say it, but you need to start everything from the start. They wish you get so desperat/pissed/frustrated that you buy a new game (hoping that will "fix" the game)

I strongly believe there is no point playing before a week or two has passed, and we have version 1.34 or 1.35 on our hands. And then start from scratch... :(
Milestones, Path, storyline, guild and fractions, etc...

*sigh*
And that will by far not be the only quirks. I have played a while with my old saves without bugs or so, but then I missed a big part of the new features.

=====> Start new game

Concur. There have been significant changes, so much so that I'm not sure how well the older gameplay will map to 1.3. Atlas stones seem to be gone, for example; I got a "Captured Nanode" craftable object on my first (and so far only) visit to an Atlas Station.

Time to rediscover the thrill of being outgunned by any random pirate, of running around hazardous planets with nothing but your skivvies, of being happy to get 1710 units from "checking stock," and of being generally clueless about what to do next. ;-)
After looking at the update notes, i also do not understand how people can carry on with their previous games? It seems some pretty fundamental aspects have been changed. Still Hello Games know their game the best, so it must be fine?
At least Hello Games should make a stand.
For example:
"If you choose to continue a game from version 1.2, you'll miss out (or experience problem) on the following, new functions in version 1.3:
*List

HG wish that all users start a new game, to fully use of the new features. And of course; Please use our "Save importer", so you can continue on a planet of your choice, with the money you have (ship and frighter prize included), and a few containers of goods/minerals you have found up untill now.

Good Game!"

But nooo....
From a reply on Steam of one of the game developers, I can confirm that Hello Games is working in making previous savegames functional with the current update. They encourage people to send-in a support ticket with their problems together with the corrisponding savegames.
It's on the No Man's Sky home page > Help Topics > Support Request.

Could you post the link to that info?

BTW, I've also suffered this issue. It exactly happens in this way:
+ My planet has been totally recreated...
+ My base is there apparently untouched. My containers contains what they contained and all my three vehicles are there.
+BUUUUT all my specialists are gone although the terminals are all there. (BTW, I had already finished the "specialist" quests on 1.2x).
+ The game prompts these specialist quests again... And just as a test, I've just re-started them. On my home system space station I've just re-hired a Construction specialist, a Weapon specialist and a Vehicle specialist.
+ My current construction specialist quest is the "go to the abandoned building to get the schematics for the scientific terminal" one... (Although I already have that terminal built in my base and available in my building menu...)
+ My current exocraft specialist quest is "build a Nomad geobay", although I have already all the three vehicles in my base lawn...
+ My new weapon specialist still gives no missions....

Is this what all the people is suffering? Has anyone maintained their specialists? Or does EVERYBODY lose them?

Nevertheless, I'm probably going to test building a NEW Nomad geobay. I'm curious to see if I get the "upgraded" Nomad version I do own or just the base initial one.

EDITED------

OMG!!!! I've lost a LOT of blueprints!!!!! I cannot build a Nomad geobay because I cannot build Voltaic Cells anymore!!!

EDITED (2)-------

I've also lost ALL the exovehicles improvement blueprints!!!!

Only ship, exosuit and multitool seem intact! But I fear all the specialist enhancements can be reseted, (I mean lost), at any time. I mean I've just dismantled and recreated the advanced mining laser and the Haz-Mat gauntlets without trouble... But I fear when Construction specialist quest line advances till I have to build a Weapon Terminal, I'll lose those blueprints too till I re-obtain them through the Weapon Specialist quest line...

Could anyone confirm/deny?

@ARSPR,

If I find the discussion on Steam again, I'll link it here, but Steam is flooded with complaints and bug reports atm.

As for your base:
Yes, I can confirm all this but this is what everyone will experience. You need to unbuild your base, save the game, and then rebuild it *at the same location*, also all NPC terminals to get the quests functional again. This may still lead to other trouble or malfunctionning though.

So far in 1.31 I have ecnountered 3 severe bugs you must know when playing:

- Don't use the technology slots of your ship: they are broken, show no effect. Don't put reactors in them otherwise: no warping.

- Cargo slots for your exosuit are broken

- Multitool prices are broken in rare instances because of negative value for your current multitool.

- Most story quests (missions) seem to be broken at some point.

As for 16.08.2017 noon, the experimental game version has fixed bugs related to bases and their quests.
This means the regular next patch is not too far away.

You do know there is a delete save game option in the game right? No need to buy another copy. Anyway, its always a good idea to start a new game when a patch is released, especially huge patches that change a lot of stuff as this increases the likleyhood that something will be broke on the old patches. Somes fixes/features can also only been seen on a new game as well.

A great deal of these bugs are not isolated, it seems all people have them, which makes it look like HelloGames does not even test them before they send them out the proverbial door.

While it was very nice to see new features, the old unfixed bugs and new ones should have been very easy to find via play testing, do they not do this ?

If they had released this as a pure experimental try at your own risk update that would have been fine, but they did not, considering their track history you would think they would be extra cautious with their product.

Not sure if you are pulling my leg, or if you mis-read my post.
Of course I know how to delete a save. It says so, right at the bottom in the first screen, after game has started...
My point is that HG should make a stand, currage gamers to start a new save, and have some sort of "transfer tool", so you dont loose eeeeeverything you have grinded.

:)
