Do improvements stack? I notice that the things you buy or get from NPC's have improvements stacked. Like Cooling level 1, Cooling level 2, and cooling level 3. Do they add up to cooling level 6?
Yes, I believe so.

I don't know the limits, but they do stack.
Thanks, I have been messing up. Now I have to fix my stuff. If Got level 2, I would dismantle level 1.
Not only that, but if you have slots of the same type next to each other (e.g. mining upgrades on the multitool, hyperspace upgrades in the ship part), you'll notice they'll share coloured borders, suggesting there's a bonus going on there.

well it depends, if you have the space obviously keep both, otherwise just go with the higher number

Yes they do. In order to get the most out of them, they need to be connected to each other. E.g all warp engines should be touching/connected to each-other in your inventory.

Damn! I was wondering if it would benefit me to keep my similar upgrades close to each other, but couldn`t be arsed to dismantle everything to find out. Guess I`ll be taking my ship apart now!

For your sanity I wouldn't. I don't even know how much of a bonus it gives, if anything.

To late- Once I get a hold of the bit!
Yes and if you place upgrades next to each other e.g.Tau toxic shield next to Theta t. shield then you get some bonus.

Yeah, my multitool didn't have room to do much aligning, just left it alone. My exosuit got the most revamping, I think I could still do more there.
I find this just mind numbingly stupid, to have the upgrades take up so much space.
At least have the necklaces and relic knives not to take up as much space as 500 units of Aluminium.
