So I'm heading out from Eissentam to the next galaxy because why not? Problem is, I can not get the warp to lock on to or even detect a warpable target at the center.

I did travel from Euclid to the Hilbert Dimension long, long ago (Foundation era) and it worked as advertised. Follow the yellow line to the inner shell. Charge up the hyperdrive to 100% and then off I went.

Now, nothing. Hyperdrive's 100%, all three "color" drives installed (just in case; not sure if they're needed). I've tried starting from systems that are the end of black hole paths and others that are simply close enough to the center that the guide path leads there and nowhere else.

Tried holding down the LMB and waving it around, as some guides suggest. Result: tired finger. Tried different ships from the "fleet," no better results.

The on-screen prompt is never more than "F to set waypoint." Press F, nothing changes. No option to warp, no "You need to have Green Sludge in your Galactic Widget first" hints.

Annoying. I'm probably missing something obvious.

Actually you might be missing something that is not so obvious.

Need to have current system selected but also be able to see the center of the galaxy at same time.

Move mouse around to display the yellow bar then move the mouse to position the yellow bar on the line to the galaxy center.

Galaxy center then should show "Select" but this may be a bit difficult to see based upon the flare or glow.

Then hold "E" or whatever the remapped key might be and you should then be warped to Elkupalos with all technology broken. Not sure if you can use freighter to do this or just a junker ship to minimize how much you have to repair.

Bazinga! That did it. Thank you!

Why in the world would HG require that mechanism when ordinary warps do not need to use it? I've accidentally triggered that yellow segment on a few occasions but I was never sure what it did or why it was there.

But it worked!

For info, I did use the freighter to execute the warp through the center. On the plus side, no ship damage and so no ship repairs were needed. On the (slight) minus side, the freighter wasn't in the destination system when I "woke" on the planet. Regular ships could be summoned to the surface and the freighter could be summoned to the system, so not having it present is only a minor break in continuity.

Hmmm... Since existing bases and teleport destinations remain after passing through the center, I wonder if repeating the journey starting from the same system in Eissentam will land in the same system in Elkupalos, similar to how black hole jumps are linked.
