dashiichi: Not wild about the changed color scheme around my base. :-(

Velgor: Ugh, sorry to see that the landscape changed like that for you. On a side note, I REALLY like your base. It's beautiful. I've seen some nice ones on the portal worlds during the community events and it really makes me feel embarrassed about my one and only home base. It's so ugly...
Thanks! It started out as a one room, ground floor shack and kind of grew as necessity dictated. Next up (no pun intended) is to swap out the wooden side pieces for concrete but leave the wooden floors inside and wooden decks outside.

Strongly recommend, in general, to build a main floor at least one level above the ground. Otherwise the occasional terrain regeneration can be a pain when a grassy hill shows up in the middle of the floor one day.

General hint: The corridor pieces (straight, curved, 90-deg, etc.) will mate to the basic materials (wood, concrete, metal) on one end and the traditional round or cuboid rooms on the other. Makes it possible to build with the basic material pieces and still have, for example, a biodome or two for plants.

You can also drop the specialist terminals all in one room when using the basic material pieces. They just need to have their own floor section. Saves having to construct 4-5 separate round rooms to house them.

Thanks for the tips. I only built my base as a necessity and don't really spend much time there at all. It's built in a crater, has all sorts of terrain issues, and just...boring. I had no idea about being able to put multiple specialist terminals in one area. That would be helpful!

Perhaps it's time to rebuild and put some care into doing a better job...
