Are all lobbies supposed to be open? I just want to play with my friends.

I can't even put a password on the lobby?

Unfortunately at the moment it is not possible for GOG, but for Steam you can choose "Online with Friends" option from the Multiplayer menu. In this mode only people from your list can play, and these game you host through here can only be seen by friends.

That is quite unfortunate, as I don't want to play with random people.

So basically, jump ship to steam.
