Hello, i just bought this game and got a tiny little problem. I did everything to patch this game using the patcher and even edit the registry to make the resolution and POV in the right manner. But strangely, everytime i made a change to the game and restarted the game, it went back to its default configuration, hence i couldnt play it in widescreen. Is there anybody with the same problem and come up with a solution?

While I do not know the patching steps and currently do not have the game, this looks like a case of UAC (that "Continue" prompt in Windows Vista/7 onwards). Try running the patcher as administrator and the game itself as administrator, maybe that would solve the problem as administrator will allow the patcher to access the files it needs in program files (if any) and many times bypassing UAC controls by using run as admin just solves problem. If this does not work, try double checking the steps for patching and try again with a fresh install of the game.
I always install games in a custom directory along with admin rights (both for install and play) to avoid issues like this.

However, if widescreen still gives you issues you could try this: Nexus Widescreen Patch

It should work with GOG's version of Nexus.

If this doesn't work, everyone try the regedit fix:

Make sure you run regedit in admin mode.
I know this is abit late, but the widescreen patch it works and allows you to use widescreen resolution of your choice, it does however cause the briefings to be all weird and mis-aligned, which can not be fixed, though I am using 16x10 widescreen, not sure if 16x9 will do any different or no issues at all.

I have ordered a new moniter, which is 16x9, so will find out when it arrives.
Hi all,

Since it's been a while and I've tried getting the widescreen patch recently and the link most people are giving out actually leads to nothing now (a dead link at the end of the trail), I'm putting up a new one. It took some rooting around to find someone on another forum who was offering a link that was still alive so, here it is:

All the best.

I used the simple registry change and also have the weird briefings. Not a big issue really, but still a little annoying, would the other methas (widescreen patch) not have this issue?

p.s. running 1920x1080

//edit: from what I read, it is the same as changing the values directly in registry and the briefings would also be misaligned.

Sadly, for the briefings to be in the proper places at our resolution, it would need to be reworked, not sure why 16x9 wasn't in their minds when they designed the game, but thats just my mind for ya.
