I can't get past the mission "The Mechanoid," since every time the last enemy ship is destroyed my game crashes. Is there any way to just skip a level to try and circumvent this?

I found out that if you do not complete all the objectives even the ones you are not aware of the game crashes.
Read the walk through on gamefaqs and find out what you missed.
I find that it crashes alot on some missions. I use a trainer but I deactive all options but no matter how many times I play this game with or without a trainer it just crashes on alot of the missions or after the missions for no reason

This happened to me too, lots of crashes on some missions.

The problem is if you always try to reload only last save, you wont escape from crashes.

One solution is when you start a new mission try to save more often on different slots and when you start having crashes, use some older saves, like 2nd or even 3rd save behind and like this you may have a chance to pass that moment with crash and finish the mission.

Or another not so good solution is to restart the game and start that mission from begining (and pray not have crashes again :) ) , but this is painfull if you had a good play until then.

For me, reloading some older saves in missions where i had crashes worked most of the time, but for example, on last mission i couldn't pass damn crash moment reloading older saves and i was to bored to restart from begining after i played more than 50% from mission and had a good play :)

No matter what I always crash at the end of Sneaking

Can you tell us what happens in this mission? I only played Nexus in German, so I am not familiar with the English titles.

Well i think the German titles are the same as English ones (except the language) but don't quote me.

In this mission, you are to approach a space station undetected, and launch a commando unit to that station.

After that you need to battle some gorg ships, the game crashes either during the battle, or right when the battle ends.

it's odd because I have restarted the campaign multiple times, it still crashes in the same mission.

Only once, did it crash in a different mission (after sneaking) but I don't even remember the name.

This isn't the one where you discover the Angelwing? I had multiple crashes in this mission, because I chose a different approach and first destroyed all weapon platforms before launching the Angelwing. Apparently, this was not the intended order, and the game crashed every single time. In my next attempt, after restarting the mission, I chose a more direct approach. This hurt my ship like hell, but I finished the mission nonetheless - without a single crash.

My guess is that somewhere along the line, you somehow break the mission script.

Wait, is that the mission where you have to remain invisible?

Is there a way to include spoiler tags in this forum?

Um... I don't know about the spoiler tags.

Yes this is the one where you have to remain invisible, it always crashes at the end.

It's weird, when I discover the angelwing, I destroy all the platforms first, and that mission (knock on wood) has never crashed.

I would love for gog (heck anyone) to come out with a patch.

Sadly, this is not going to happen. In all likelihood, the sourcecode was lost forever when the company was shut down. Remember that in those days, there were no cloud hosters, and HDD space was at a premium. There are most certainly no backup copies whatsoever. :-(

I remember.

Those where the good days for games, that's when company's tried to make good quality games, instead of the unfinished crud they push out now.

Today, you pay $60 for a game and then have to buy another $50 in DLC for the rest of the game.

Old games are the best!

Well, that's the thing: You DON'T! You do NOT have to buy those games if you inform yourself well before you buy (that also includes pre-ordering). By making informed purchases yoou stay in control of the market. If you keep to this rule and influence others to follow your lead, gamers as a whole get to have a say about the state the games are released in. Only by accepting the current state of games you allow this to happen.

Sorry for preaching, but ever since pre-ordering TES:Oblivion I am on a crusade against buggy releases and pre-orders. Even Total Bisquit has called out to gamers asking them to NOT pre-order: http://youtu.be/mf5Uj4XIT1Y

Never said I accepted it, never said I bought it, that's why I shop here:)

It's full of good games!

Rule number 1 about buying software or hardware, NEVER buy it when it first comes out!
