For those with an window-open-and-crash error.
This is probably because running bare Win7 SP1 with system updates disabled.

You need to update your windows by installing: "Platform Update for Windows 7"
(cant post link to it, its a official thing from MS website, few MB size)

Worked for me, regardless of game update version.
