What I mean by doesn't work is this. When the console is opened there is a bright red # instead of the green dash that used to be there. The floors no longer turn yellow and when I try to enter text like debugmode 1 it instead looks like this
de bg II and more spaces and dashes and other things. I also have tried to use the chat box to input console commands and the same thing happens. Anyone have any ideas? This only started with a new install, it used to work just fine.
Actually the input commands DO work it's just translated into gibberish in the either the chat window or the console window.

I use the regular chat to enter cheat codes. You just have to proceed them with ##. So ##DebugMode 1, etc.
