Quick question, how high umd would you need to use the dwarf only warhammer at the end of the original campaign?
UMD is not a factor. Only Khelgar can retrieve it and equip it along with the rest of the suit (the gloves and belt).

That is not true as I have used it as a dwarf player character without any issues. Think only requirements is
to be a dwarf + need to equip gloves and belt before you can pick up the hammer.

The stats on the hammer give it an extremely high inherent gp value. I do not know if bonuses applied by the completed set increase the item's inherent gp value, but they probably don't. Racial restriction adds +5 against the UMD roll, so the DC might be 30 or 35, just guessing. Your character needs martial weapon proficiency, too, since UMD does not help overcome feat requirements.

So not really possible even with skill focus then right? :(
It depends.

A level 18 Bard, Rogue, Warlock, or Assassin can allocate UMD 21 plus the skill focus (+3 UMD) plus capped Charisma (+6 UMD) to reach UMD 30 for 700K value items. A bard can use competence to raise still higher but needs to keep it active while equipped.
