Hi,
Whenever I play NWN, I get a squealing that comes from my computer. It has made me not want to play the game because it is so annoying. Any help on how to fix this would be great. I have the same problem when playing HMMV.

It's not the game, but there's not enough information to go on. I would check for overheating, both GPU and CPU, making sure all fans are working properly and not hindered in any way. Also check your audio equipment for any feedback you may be experiencing.

Try activating V-sync.
Do you have a Zotac GTX 560 Ti?

Sorry for the late reply. I got it working, I had to activate V-sync like you said. Thanks! No more squealing.

That's still a sign of a major problem. With V-sync off, your GFX processor was working as hard as it could, constantly. As it worked hard, it got hot. As it got hot, it turned on a fan faster and faster that eventually was squealing.

You will likely want to check into it and replace that fan. If it's squealing, that likely means it has a bad bearing or something else is significantly wrong with it. And so if you don't replace it, you may overheat your graphics card, which will render it dead.

I hope you enjoy the game! If you get a chance to join a DM-led multiplayer experience, it's probably the best RPG experience that can be had on the PC.

I checked out my graphics card, and checked with a couple friends. Apparently, this is a really common issue with newer graphics cards. They all have this problem and I helped them with it. I have an evga gtx 960 4gb, and its pretty new. Thanks for your concern, though. :)
