Hello

So, long story short, I'm looking to play through HotU with a Sorc. A 1 level dip for paladin seems a no brainer, and after that I have to decide if I want to go the auto still route or cloth. I think I'm leaning towards two levels of Shadowdancer to get a stealthy mage with evasion to make use of that save boost.

In order to do this I'm looking at about 18 cha, 13 dex, and the rest int.

I guess the question is, do my pitiful physical stats make me too glass cannon? Having the HiPS panic button and strong saves should help elude a lot of trouble but with an 8 con I'm going to be sitting pretty low on the hit point totem pole.

Postpone the final SD as long as possible for the tumble and stealth dumps.

Ummm... INT? Best just enough for Expertise/Imp Expertise.... 13 (or 14 if you need the skills)
Max CHA. Your divine shield/might will be s-o-o-o-o much stronger and last longer. You are going to need STR 13 to get divine feats. Unless you are just dumping for the saves. TBH, cleric gets Turn Undead sooner than pally and no alignment constraint. With 2 cleric for divine powers, 2 SD for skill dumps still leaves 24 sorc. Pally is okay just needs more levels. Saves never seemed much of any issue for me in HotU. You might experience it differently though.

My own preference would be something like STR13 DEX 13 CON 12 WIS 8 INT 14 CHA 16(24). with 1 Grt cha Not sure if 28 levels is enough to get all the autostill feats, probably not. with EMA in epic anyway. If your HiPS doesn't seem to be working all that well try EpicSkF: Hide. There are loads of true seeing creatures in HotU so don't know how well stealth will serve you.

Spellsword should be pretty easy with your plan. You have 2 meat shields in front. Try not to kill them with your AoE spells. ;)

Int for skills. stealths, discipline, tumble, concentration, and spellcraft takes quite a bit if you want them all at reasonably good levels.

Yeah, the way NWN handles stealth/true seeing is the real pain. But I like the concept of the stealth sorc and wanted to try it at least.

The real core of the question is - can a magely sorc in cloth survive with a 8 con. Is it too gimped or can it compete?

its way too gimped...

I'd drop discipline altogether. Humans get an extra skill point to help so stick with that race. Even concentration should be unnecessary for a spellsword. You buff up, erect your damage shields, and start hacking with one of those +10 weapons. If you really feel you need up-close necromancy, then queue IE and cast. Conc will only become a factor if you are getting hit and should have excellent AC with robes using EMA, emp cat's & IE.
I don't see any problem, really.

Then go for it! I use invis & grtr sanctuary myself with some darkness/ultravision thrown in. Don't like the movement penalty of stealth except under very special conditions.

HotU is high-magic. Lots of CON boost item plus Emp Endurance should keep you fairly safe when combined with the high AC. Don't forget about that measily +1AC from Dodge. Worst case scenario, if you are getting swarmed, a hasted Iron Golem with damage shields & full buffs is very nasty. Con 8 should be fine though I personally would set it at least at 12.
Yeah, in NWN1 I'd never play a non human. Period.

The idea with discipline is just to stop anything that might prevent casting of my spells. Knockdown being one of those. But then, since it's up vs attack bonus (I don't know if that includes item bonuses or if it's the BAB of the character attacking... some of NWN is coded oddly) it could be entirely useless anyway. Or totally effective. Hard to say.

My hope is that even with rampant true seeing HiPS is going to be enough to break targeting enough of the time that I can hit and fade. Can't do that fast enough with spells, but stealth is fast.

Panther familiar obviously. Don't think any of the others are even worth taking.
Sorc 20/Pal 3/Rogue 3

Play a gnome for a con bonus for free and immunity to your own evards, ignore hide, use invisibility to stealth and dump all sneak points in move silently. Grab divine shield. Dump dex down to ten and put the points in CON. Equip +12 CON gear. Equip +12 CHA gear. Get bags of holding.

Invest in epic spell focus of a school that targets multiple saves with disablers. I usually go conjuration.

Discipline is cute, but unnecessary in any of the core campaigns. There's +30 Disc gloves around, for example, that should have you covered in HOTU; unless I remember wrong.

And if I want skillpoints, I play a wizard.
