GOG should have fixed this but personally I am still not sure and would probably get it and install it just to be sure.....

Thank you, but will it be ok if I download it and install it, and then say the gog version does already have it installed? Will it just overwrite it?

Yeah...thats what I wanted to say...it doesn't do any harm to install that "critical update" thingie.....
