Has anyone been able to successfuly edit a character or savegame with this version of NWN ? I messed up my skills and feats so I tried editing them with 2 different editors: NWNTool and Leto 1.69
I edited the player.bic file in my saves folder. When I edit, save and reopen it in the editor, I can see that all the changes I made have been saved. However, when I load my quicksave, my character stats haven't changed.

Ideas ? :/

Might be easier to just use the console to give yourself negative experience points (thus removing feats and skills), then use it to give yourself the levels back again and redo the character the way you want.

Thanks for the reply, this is a good idea.
I used the dm_giveXP command with a negative value. It says "Enter target mode" but nothing happens when I click my character or her portrait.. and the message fades away.
I must be missing something ?

Edit: I think I need to enter debug mode, I will try later.

Leto 1.69

You need to edit your player in the xxxxxx.sav
Open your saved game. (where you edited your player.bic)
At the bottom where it says "Files of type" select "From List in file"
Select xxxxxx.sav
scroll to the bottom of the list & select Module IFO
Then edit your player or companion in the Mod_PlayerList.
Then Save As Save as type: Into List from file
select xxxxx.sav & confirm overwrite.
Module IFO/player name
OK

Where it says "Files of type", Instead of going "From List in file", try going "Package files"

Tried it 4 different ways.
"From List in file" to "Into List from file"
"Package files" to "Into List from file"
"Package files" to "Package files"
"From List in file" to "Package files"

same result each time.
"Out of memory while expanding memory stream".
I noticed that when I go to save the file.
"Then Save As Save as type: Package files or Into List from file"
that "Neverwinter Nights - Kingmaker.sav" isn't listed and I have to type it in manually.

Ok tried a different Game.sav while the problem with game.sav not showing up did not occure, I did not have to manually enter the different save games, name the end result "Out of memory while expanding memory stream".
still happened.

Then I'm sorry, I can't help you.
I have never got that error message myself, and the only person I've seen post it, got around it by choosing Package files instead of Files from list.

Thats ok, maybe another editor or a reinstall of game & editor will help. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for this thread!

I'm having a strange problem with NWN 2 Complete, just installed with Galaxy 12 hours ago. I've been using Leto 1.69 for my NWN Diamond version with no trouble. Just started NWN 2 OC just spawned in the house grabbed the furs from the chest and saved my game before going outside for the first time. The only .sav file is 0_Tutorial.sav but Leto can't edit it, says "unexpected size, too small" (or something close). Leto is correct, I right clicked on it and there is no data. There does seem to be a 0_Tutorial.Z (zip file) too and must be where the data is being saved. This is version NWN 2 v123 just installed, no idea why this is happening.

Suggestions and help, appreciated.
Thanks

Did you ever resovle this. Having same issue, while character editor works (for new games), save game, seems new format with most of the data in the large .Z file and the .sav files being tiny.

For NWN2 use this GFF Editor https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/tool/modified-gff-editor
In your save folder, edit the playerlist.ifo file.
If you are playing NWN2 get this one from the neverwinter vault. https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn2/other/tool/nwn2-character-editor It's Java based not only can you edit the characters stats, remove levels, you can edit their inventory too
