It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

What I mean is, how do you set it so it's not in full screen, so you can easily switch between it and other applications? This is probably the dumbest question ever but I would appreciate help :)
Open ‘nwn.ini’ using notepad, in the Display Options section:

Change "FullScreen=1" to "FullScreen=0"
And add the line "AllowWindowedMode=1"

tried to do it but it seems to not work.
I tried that just now and it wouldn't let me save it with the changes. It said "Access denied" for some reason. :P
aha! you have to add "AllowWindowedMode=1" under display options!

meenie, are you running the game while editing it? or do you have uac enabled? i dont really know if that affects it but i have uac turned off and i didnt get that message.

edit: how about changing the windows position? i have my taskbar on the right side and when i start nwn on windowed mode it is under the taskbar. i would like to put it dead smack on the middle. help please...

If you have the game installed to the default directory in Program Files (x86) you have to copy nwn.ini to another file then open it there, make your changes and save, then copy it back to the game file and replace the original.

That would work you can also just open notepad as an administrator and then open the file in the program files folder and it will now allow you to save the changes.
Personally I don't see why anyone would need to play it in a window....
I play in a window very often when I am developing and have the toolset or other development tools open and need to quickly alt-tab (especially between DM Client and Player instances of nwmain.exe when I'm testing module changes), or even if I'm just playing the game and need to quickly alt-tab to forums or our wiki to look up something for a player.

Another reason I run windowed is so that I can keep an eye on some of the combat logging programs I run to keep on top of what's going on in my battles; trying to catch anything in the combat log is rather difficult with 10 person parties fighting dozens of enemies simultaneously.
