Ive had trouble with this game on pc vista. Will it run any easier on my mac which is brand new through play on mac? I used to have problems with it crashing on my pc and having memory dumps. Anyone offer any advice. Thanks.
The GoG version of NWN is windows only. The only way you'll be able to run it on your Mac is if you dual boot it with windows.

Vista (and Win 7) does struggle with NWN, but these problems are generally fixable. Without knowing exactly what your problem is I'd suggest bypassing the launcher and running the game from nwmain.exe

If you're on a laptop with an integrated chipset you may be SOL. The problem is probably the chipset and not the operating system at all. The graphics on Intel integrated chipsets just suck. Contrary to popular opinion you can polish a turd, but under the surface it's still a turd.

About installing NWN on a Mac: it's definitely possible to install the Windows versions of the expansions (SoU and HotU) on a Mac, but AFAIK you do need the Mac version for the base game.
There was/is a way to combine PC installation files with mac demo and update files to get a working mac game.

Did it once so I could play with my mac laptop, when I had one. But I don't remember how, or know if there's a mac version of the newest patch.

But mac won't run the gog installer, so it's no go from the beginning.
And even after getting the game running, it probably wont run on the newest versions of OSX, or if it runs, it'll run under old-system-emulation, so the performance won't be all that great.

Might work with "play on mac" but I wouldn't expect miracles.
The expansions, SoU and HotU, are really just NWN data files. If you have a Mac version of NWN installed it is possible to use windows versions of these expansions by bypassing the installer and manually placing the new files in the appropriate directories. There is also a Mac extractor for these expansions in the vault. You MUST use a Mac version of the game itself. The executable programs are NOT compatible, just the data files.

Unfortunately none of this will help you here. The GoG version of the game is windows only.
